From a young age, my passion for storytelling has always found its outlet in film. One of my earliest memories of creating art was attaching my mother’s iPhone to my remote-controlled car and racing it around the house, imagining I’d shrunk small enough to drive it. Though this first-person-view clip stands out when I think about my childhood creations, there were many others. I spent countless hours making short films using my sisters as actors, often filming with an iPhone, iPad, or any device I could get my hands on. 

Our playroom contained a giant box of costumes. Halloween outfits, theme-day clothes, hats, scarves, and countless props. To me, it was like a wardrobe department where I could find anything I needed to bring my stories to life. I remember running around the backyard dressed as Darth Maul or reenacting jokes I’d heard. My sisters, dogs, and even my pet bird all played roles in my films over the years. 

As a teenager envisioning my future, I am determined to shape my path with purpose and passion. I am deeply committed to continuing my journey as a storyteller through media and film. I aim to immerse myself in every aspect of the industry, gaining the skills and experience necessary to play a significant role in the entertainment world. I aim to turn this lifelong passion into a career where storytelling is integral to my everyday life.

I have passionately devoted my free time to exploring the world of media and entertainment, both academically and personally. Through classes like Media Productions, Art of Film, Directing, Photography, and Theater/Improv, I have cultivated a deep love for this vibrant field. In the theater realm, managing school plays and musicals reignites the childlike wonder of witnessing creativity come to life. 

With a passionate commitment to storytelling through media and film, I hope to someday bring to life the stories of the Lumbee Tribe through cinema. Aiming to incorporate art into every aspect of my life, I strive to build the experience necessary to thrive in the entertainment and media industry.
